Agency financial operations are managed by associate chief financial officers (ACFO), who represent the major appropriation titles in the District's annual budget. Agency chief financial officers report to their respective ACFO, who then serves as a key contact for the District's chief financial officer
and the deputy mayors in managing the city's finances and the government's programmatic priorities.
