OCFO Community Outreach
Business Economic Advisory Group
Purpose:
The Business Economic Advisory Group provides information to the OCFO's Office of Revenue Analysis (ORA) on current economic conditions and trends in the DC economy. Since there is often a long lag between the collection of economic data and the public release of these data, the advisory group provides invaluable, current information on the DC economy. This information is used to shape ORA's forecasts of key DC economic indicators and is also used by ORA's revenue estimators in developing DC revenue projections.
Meeting Frequency:
This group meets approximately twice a year.
Membership:
The Business Economic Advisory Group is comprised of individuals from various industry sectors of the DC economy and of individuals who regularly monitor the DC economy. The group includes representatives from the following industries: financial services, legal services, commercial and residential real estate services, employment services, telecommunication services, educational and other nonprofit institutions, retail trade, hotels, and restaurants. This advisory group also includes representatives from organizations involved with community and business development and neighborhood revitalization. OCFO and other DC government officials also participate in these meetings.
